This project documents and transforms into sculpture the peculiar architectural features of the former Namyeong-dong Interrogation Center, a building designed for control and concealment.

Tunnel Shell (1:1) focuses on the cylindrical enclosure that conceals the spiral staircase connecting the first and fifth floors of the building. The staircase has an exit only on the fifth floor, where the interrogation rooms were located; floors 2–4 remain sealed. This peculiar feature produces a strange mass within those intermediate levels—an awkwardly resolved column, something too large to be called a column, the exterior of a vertical tunnel.
