Oneseo Choi uncovers the latent narratives embedded behind the functions and efficiencies of industrial products, such as industrial materials and architecture, and transforms them into sculptural forms. Focusing on the properties and materiality of these industrial products, he foregrounds the intermediate stages of design, production, and distribution—stages that are undeniably present yet ultimately obscured or erased. Through this approach, he reveals the overlooked attributes of objects that operate intensely to sustain reality while remaining concealed, and reconsiders the hidden realities of industry.
최원서는 산업자재나 건축물과 같은 산업 생산물의 기능과 효율 뒤편에 잠겨 있는 서사를 발굴하고 조각적으로 변환한다. 산업 생산물의 속성과 물성에 주목하는데, 주로 설계와 생산, 유통의 중간 과정에 분명히 존재하지만 결국 사라지거나 가려지는 장면을 드러낸다. 이를 통해 치열하게 기능하며 현실을 작동시키지만 가려지고 드러나지 않는 사물의 속성과 산업의 현실을 다시 비춘다.
